About the Role
Savannah Informatics is a Kenyan e-Health software company founded by clinicians and finance specialists to deliver interoperable, connected solutions for healthcare facilities. Our vision is to enable a better healthcare future for Kenya through pioneering use of information technology and knowledge creation.
We are looking for Backend Developers to join our engineering team and contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our healthcare technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop efficient and scalable backend code in line with business requirements
- Enhance existing backend systems through refactoring, optimization, and debugging
- Develop and maintain APIs including REST and GraphQL
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams
- Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing suites
- Work with databases to develop schemas, queries, and data structures
- Contribute to technical documentation and code reviews
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language, preferably Golang or Python
- Strong understanding of API design including REST and GraphQL
- Good understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Familiarity with Linux and common software development environments
