A US-based organization whose mission is to help clients thrive through quality healthcare and housing seeks an experienced proposal writer to support its grant-seeking program. Working with a senior US-based grant writer, you will research US funding opportunities and produce high-quality first drafts of proposals and related fundraising documents.
Hours: Mostly flexible/async, with a 2–3 hour overlap window 7–10 PM EAT on weekdays
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct prospect research on US foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities
- Draft letters of inquiry, grant proposals, budget narratives, and supporting documents in US English for US funders
- Maintain the proposal library, funder records, and submissions calendar
- Use AI writing tools (Claude, ChatGPT) within our editorial workflow, with rigorous fact-checking
Qualifications
- Master’s degree and a minimum of 2 years writing funded proposals — donor-sector experience (USAID, UN, DFID/FCDO, foundations) strongly preferred
- Exceptional written English with the ability to write in US style for US audiences
- Strong research skills and reliable deadline delivery
- Familiarity with AI-assisted writing tools an advantage
