About the Role
Machakos County, nicknamed ‘Macha,’ was the first capital city of Kenya and is now an administrative county in Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Placing dental implants and performing bone grafting to reconstruct the jaw.
- Treating complex injuries, such as broken jaws, cheekbones, and fractured orbital sockets.
- Realigning the maxilla and mandible to correct functional, developmental, or sleep apnea issues.
- Biopsying and removing cysts, tumors and benign lesions of the jaws, or managing severe infections of the head and neck.
- Performing surgery for Temporomandibular Joint disorders.
- Performing facial enhancements like facelifts, Botox, fillers and rhinoplasty.
- Assessing patients for oral and facial conditions, including using imaging and biopsies.
- Administering sedation and general anesthesia, serving as both surgeon and anesthetist in outpatient settings.
Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (DS) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Master’s degree of Dental Surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
