About the Role
MAWASCO was incorporated on 24th August 2005. Its shareholding is currently under the County Government of Kilifi. Its mandate is to provide cost effective and affordable quality water & sanitation service.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental / Water/ Chemical / Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in wastewater, fecal sludge treatment, resource recovery, or industrial plant operations.
- Proven experience in supervision and team leadership.
- Experience in sales, product marketing, or business development is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the FSTP and resource-recovery facilities.
- Ensure full compliance with EMCA, NEMA, WASREB, and County sanitation regulations.
- Oversee process monitoring, quality assurance, laboratory coordination, and safety compliance.
- Prepare operational reports and support planning and budgeting.
- Supervise and train plant operators and production staff.
- Enforce OSHA 2007 safety standards and biosafety practices.
- Lead business development for compost, briquettes, and other resource-recovery products.
