About the Role
The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is leading Africa-based, African-led, international research institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, and conducting policy-relevant research on population, health, education, urbanization and related development issues on the continent.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Commit to attend all days of training and data collection.
- Obtain and document informed consent from the study participants before the interviews.
- Listing of all existing structures and rentable rooms in the study sites.
- Conduct and record all interviews held with respondents using tablets.
- Participate in daily debrief meetings.
- Be a custodian of the APHRC data collection equipment during field work.
- Observe safeguarding procedures throughout the data engagement.
- Any other related activity assigned by the supervisor during the contract period.
Minimum Requirements
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE); with a minimum grade of C Plain.
- Experience in electronic data capture methods, such as survey CTO and devices like tablets.
- Attention to detail to ensure the correctness of all data entered.
- Previous experience working in Korogocho and Viwandani is an added advantage.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili.
- Be available to work full-time on the project for the duration.
